Center for DNA Testing is a rapidly growing DNA testing company driven by a passion for elevating the science and utility of genetic testing. We are looking for an experienced Mobile Phlebotomist to join our dedicated team and help families across the country access the answers they need.
As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you will serve patients by identifying the best method for blood retrieval, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and managing packing and shipping procedures — all while delivering a professional and compassionate experience to every client.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Verify test orders by comparing information with requisition forms and flagging any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel
– Verify patient identity before collection using established identification protocols
– Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures accurately and safely
– Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques and departmental procedures, including all isolation protocols
– Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting collection times, and maintaining daily tallies
– Maintain quality results by following departmental procedures and testing schedules, and reporting
any needed changes
– Resolve unusual test orders by coordinating with our mobile phlebotomy team and escalating unresolved issues as needed
– Update job statuses and add tracking information in Skedulo
– Complete missing information on requisitions and manage logistical printing of patient reports for your area
– Answer, triage, and follow up on billing questions with patients
– Schedule pickups from courier services including FedEx and Medspeed
– Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment in compliance with all applicable legal regulations and standards
– Complete all required Procedure Policy (SOP) training within the first 30 days of hire
– Stay current on all Center for DNA Testing training requirements
– Continuously update job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and industry networks
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required
- National Phlebotomy Certification may be required depending on state of practice
- RN, BS, or BA degree preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
– Ability to adhere to professional standards, policies, and procedures as well as federal, state, and local requirements
– Strong attention to detail and commitment to specimen integrity
– Excellent communication and patient-facing skills
– Ability to work independently in a mobile and remote setting
– Comfortable with logistics management and tracking systems
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
– Mobile and remote work environment
– Scrubs and closed-toe shoes required at all times
– Proper PPE required including face mask, gloves, and hand hygiene
– Position requires tracking of each blood draw
